gold Idallyns gold farming guide, tailored for Stormreaver. gold

Dont mind the spelling errors, I sped through this very fast.

Hey gays, ok here it is, Im gonna make this so short and easy that even an idiot can manage to understand.

This is based on my experience on my ally server (Turalyon) and on the horde server (Stormreaver)

So, you want gold, and how to get it. This is not an advanced guide btw. And I will add stuff as it goes or I get advice from others, so dont be shy on sharing.

First of: Make a Bank/AH alt

If you have not already made one, do it NOW. This will make it easy to send crap from overstuffed bags to your Bankwhore.

Mail to alts are instantanious.

So make a bank alt and give hin some bags, not to expencive and gonna be worth it in the long run.

I prefer to have my Bankwhore in Orgrimmar, any other place is good as well, easy access to bank, mail and AH.

So, when you get stuff from whoever, send this to Bankwhore if you planning on selling it.

Having a Bankwhore is great for storing stuff, and it also release you from using your main to do everything and traveling all the time to your bank or AH.

ALWAYS put a buyout (BO) price on items on AH, ALWAYS!!!

Grinding: Powerfarming stuff

1 Get a mod that shows what sellprice for items are, and keep grays that sells for X amount of gold etc, this will easyly give you some free gold when you go to sell or post your findings.

2 Send BoE items to bank. If you think it is sellable, look on ah at the price and put the BO price just a tad cheaper if there are many items, a few silver might be enough.

If its "Crap Greens", like items with 40 spirit, then keep it and lvl up an Enchanter if you do not already have that proffession. Then dissenchant the items and sell on AH or keep for yourself.

An alternative is to team up with a Guild Enchanter, Like Sovereign. Make him dissenchant (DE) for you and sell/keep/whatevvah.

It is considered polite to pay back in a form of either some of the DE'd stuff, percentage of sale, favors (like a free transmute or aid at a place), a fee (or tip as we call it) or sexual favors.

3 Either team up or solo a place with monsters that drops good AH crap, like the spiders in Terrokar, Netherweb Silk I think it was, or the Nagas in Zangarmarch who drop shadowpearls.

Remember, you may have to share the booty, but you will be able to kill more in less time and there fore you will all win in the end.

I prefer to team up with a healer, like Kath. Since I am a Palla I can take a deal of asskicking.

Example of a strategy: Terrokar, Spiders. We go to the south east part with all the spiders, we mount and split up and pull around 6-10 spiders to an area. I aoe to get aggro and kill them of while Healer heals me.

We did the samethe same with the nagas in Zangar. Mind you that it might be harder to Crowd Controll (CC) if the mods are ranged/casters.

4 Gathering

Run around and gather shit with your proffession. I will come back to this later.

Proffessions. How to use your proffessions.

It is always usefull to have proffessions that complement or enhance each other, like Enchantment/Tailoring or BS/Mining.

If your sole purpose it to get money, choose two Gathering proffessions. Mining, Skinning, Herbalism.

I think this kind of takes away the fun with my main char, but remember that you can use an alt char with two gathering proffs and make money with that instead.

I will also like to add that I like to have several alts that help my main char. I got an Enchantment alt that I send all my DE stuff to etc.

Remember, try to do several things at once, like skinning/questing/cooking at the same time etc to save time.

Gathering proffession and fishing/cooking

Fishing - Cooking - Mining - Skinning - Herbalism

fishing

Fishing:

Get fish like Deviate Fish or whatever. Also in OL the fish that you capture can have imba effects if used with cooking (see down)

And, at high lvl you can fish Motes of Water in OL or the rare Vendor fish that goes for 8 g at vendors.

cooking

Cooking:

Good for getting money for stuff you already do. If you are fishing you get fish you can cook and sell. If you are skinning or just questing you get meat you can cook and sell etc.

Yep, cooking can be a relatively easy way to get money while not actively seeking the materials if you get the skill up to the stuff that goes for good money.

mining

Mining:

This is a good proffession for getting money, especially if you do not have a secondary proffession that requires ore and gems.

Try to always have a good skill in this since you do not know if you suddently find a vein of great value, and it would suck if you lack a few skill pts to mine it.

Even low lvl ores like Thorium, Silver and Gold will give you a good price. Check ah if prices are good, and you may make a good bit of gold, Never underestimate ore, no matter how low, there is alway someone who need ore.

In Outland (OL) you get Motes of Earth and Fire from mining.

Some creatures can be "skinned" by miners.

skinning

Skinning:

Easyest proffession ever, you know where to go to grind beasts etc, and the respawn. In addition they drop shit when you kill them that you can sell/DE etc.

herb

Herbalism:

Ah yes, the surpricingly difficult and dangerous proffession of flowerpicking. I chose this on Idallyn, and its great. I am also used to this from my ally priest.

In aly case, you get a lot of flowers during your travels. Not always as easy to find, the respawn time and places are regular, and in OL you have the benefit of getting Motes of Life and sometimes Motes of Mana.

The Fel lotus goes for about 24 g BO atm, this flower is a rare drop from any OL Flower node.

Some creatures can be "skinned" by herbalists.

Crafting Proffessions

Alchemy - Engineering - Blacksmith - Enchanting/DE - Tailoring - Jewelcrafting/Prospecting - Leatherworking

alch

Alchemy:

My second proffession, another sign that I am a semi alcoholic. Lets see...

Ofc I use herbs to skill and create stuff. I too the Elixir Mastery and it pays of nicely.

To make money here, I recomend that you check AH and see what pots are expencive and not to hard on you to make.

Also, you can make a fair deal on Transmutes. I make Arcanite Bars, since alot of peeps make the highter transmutes the lower ones gets more expencive. I usually put Arcanite Bars out for around 17g/19g depending on ah price. If there is no Arcanite Bars on AH at all i put them out for 19g/24g, sellers marked.

engi

Engineering:

Awesome proffession... yet! I have not much experience on the highter engineer lvls, but I know that at the highest lvls you get some device that allows you to harvest Motes in OL. This is goodie!

Other than that, you may get a nice price on certain stuff that other proffessions need or quest items, like the Gyrochronatom

bs

Blacksmithing:

Dont know anything about BS, somethings may be sold like sharpening stones, chains and other gear.

Other than that my impression of this proff is that it drains ore from mining skill.

Send suggestions.

enchdisen

Enchanting:

You get a whole lot of stuff for Disenchanting (DE) during lvling, either from quests or drops. The items you get from DE can be sold on AH. You can also sell enchants to people, either with your own "expencive" materials, or they gove you mats pluss a small fee.

Some of the lower lvl mats that you get from DE'ing lower lvl stuff can be sold for a pretty penny.

Tip 1: Boost noobs in forexample SFK, tell them that you will do it if you get all stuff that they dont need. Then you get a lot of low stuff that sells for alot, thay get XP and the gear they need. (Or you can solo the instance, but I think it takes to long to loot, I prefer to have henchmen doing it for me while I ma the killing machine.

Tip 2: Boost noobs in forexample SFK, tell them you will do it for all the cloth they gather. Send cloth to a Tailoring alt, make a whole lot of shit that you send back to Enchanter or an Enchanter friend and DE it, sell on AH

Can't figure out anything else atm, ask Sovereign for tips.

tail

Tailoring:

Tailoring is not the best proffession for money alone, though very sweet for classes, like healers.

Here I recoment that you either take Enchanting as a second proffession, make an Enchant alt to Dissenchant stuff or that you ally yourself with an enchanter and make him/her/it Disenchant stuff for you.

If you got alot of low lvl cloth and the prices on AH is low, dont sell it. Use th ecloth to make low lvl crap and get it Dissenchanted. People still need the kind of low lvl enchant stuff.

jcpros

Jewelcrafting/Prospecting:

I actually love this proffession, although at start not the best money proffession it can produce cheap items for your Enchanter to Disenchant. Also the Prospect skill gives you gems and such which can be sold for a pretty penny at AH.

Prospecting will at the endgame be quite powerfull when you get a chance of getting expencive gems like the Star of Elune from ore. In short, Prospecting is the big money-grabber in this proffession.

lw

Leatherworking:

I have not skilled this proffession highter then 150, so I cant really tell much about it.

Thats it for now on proffessions, I will update when I can/will.

_________________________________________________________________________________

Alts:

Make alts, atleast one for banking/AH.

This way you can get more out of your items then you would if you just vendor on sell items on AH.

An example, my Ally server

Medicus

70 Herb, Tailoring Primal mooncloth, all herbs go to Ino since I dont need them. Fishing Water motes
Vargtann 70 JC, Mining Sell ore, use JC to prospect ore for valuable gems sometimes
Spiritus 60 Skinning, Tailoring Dont use much, sell the skins, Makes Primal Mooncloth as well
Slaktmeg 42 Enchant, Mining DE whore, also use this to keep all Ench stuff
Ino 41 Alch, Herb Alch stuck at 300 atm, store all herbs here and sell them from here too
Medbank 2 Whoring General bank for all stuff that dont fit in the other chars.

Tips:

Have fun, dont let gold grinding be to boring or you wil tire faster.

Try to do things at the same time.

Do quests, you get rep, xp, vendorable rewards and gold by doing them, and you may kill/do stuff that you can combine with your proffessions for money (look at prev tip)

Think out of the box, either make an alt to help you or work together with someone you trust

Check AH if not often, then atleast now and then.
